Updates:
  • MLK Walk - January 18, Monday 
    • Feedback: Good group of SI students and faculty, good walk, next year we need to bring the banner and make signs  
  • Sashes Proposal Update
    • had a meeting a week ago 
    • Mr. Gavin and Mr. Lynch polished the document 
    • decision: should we wear the sashes only at graduation or should we wear them at other commencement ceremonies
      • add in "graduation and/or other commencement ceremonies" onto the document? 
    • proposal will be presented to Mr. Ruff and Fr. Harris, ASC needs to be represented 
    • wearing sashes at graduation may be awkward or we may feel a sense of separation since there is only a few who are wearing them 
  • General Meeting in January - PLANNING
    • Recruit for: Lunar New Year FML and Chinese New Year Parade 
    • When have the meeting? January 26 
    • Roles: 
      • Gen: send email about meeting by Friday and do a reminder email on Monday 
  • Lunar New Year FML on Friday, February 19
    • Roles: need readers
  • Chinese New Year Parade/SIPAC Lunar New Year Luncheon- February 20, Saturday
    • Recruit: ______________
    • need 30 people
    • meeting on January 26 during break 
    • SITV: film on January 25 
    • meeting at Chinese Chamber of Commerce on January 16: Ryan will attend 
      • performing section needs to be between 30 to 45 seconds, provide your own ponchos because it may rain this year, perform towards Union Square, on the day of the parade every group has to send a person to a UPS truck to get a badge, keep rows of five formation, you can bring decorated umbrellas

  • Asian Pacific American Heritage Month - May
  • FML in honor of an Asian saint or martyr: April 8thApril 15thMay 6th, and May 13th as dates
    • Events: morning prayer once a week, Holi festival in May, poster with your Asian Pacific hero 
    • White People documentary will be close to GOYB deadline
