2. ID Formation Event: Filipino History Month - Tuesday, October 26, 2021 @ 3:15 pm

• LaVon and Arielle are free! (President of PIA and TFC)

• Reserve Commons or Faculty Dining room - Ms. Wong will check on that

• Big Question: Are Filipinos Asian or Pacific Islander?

• Irianna will do designs for posters with LaVon and Arielle

• Slides: Finish by Wednesday, 10/20 - Irianna will add the slides into the ASC drive

• Quick Introduction of all leadership teams: Vivian (for the ASC leadership team) and Irianna  

• History of Categorization (history of the census that Filipinos have been put in - ethnic wise - Asian or pacific islander): Penny and Irianna

• History Between Filipinos and Pacific Islanders: Eva

• Can Filipinos Identify as Pacific Islander: Ashley and Isa

• LaVon will explain who can identify as Pacific Islander and geographical areas

• ASC and TFC will talk about Filipino History Month

• Why it is called History and not heritage!

4. Diwali Event - Thursday, November 4, 2021 @ 3:15 pm

• Are we allowed to draw rangolis on the Piazza? - yes we can! - Ms. Wong is getting confirmation or how long we can leave the designs on the piazza

• Email Indira about teaching (if rangoli isn't possible): no need

• Can the kitchen provide food? - Sweets - yes!
