Welcome back ASC Board! Hope everyone had a restful spring break!
  1. Anti-Asian Hate ID Formation Debrief
    • fantastic job everyone!
    • what went well?
      • small group discussions, didn't have to cold call anyone (our small groups were prepared to share to the big group)
    • how can we improve for the future!
      • speaking to our audience, make the presentation more engaging (if possible), have more people facilitate the big group discussion (might encourage other members to speak up), a week before we can send out a google form asking those who will participate if they have any questions or specific topics regarding the general topic to discuss, make sure everyone has their script ready a week before (be more prepared)

        • if we do have interested speaker(s):
          • start with very brief presentation to introduce speaker and highlight key points about immigration
            • include struggle of the perpetual foreigner
            • we would want to maximize time for speakers
          • have a few ASC board members facilitate conversation with the speaker
            • we would prepare a list of guiding questions and send to the speakers ahead of time
          • include a Q&A session towards the end of the event for ASC members
        • if we do not have a speaker:
          • create an informative presentation that goes deep into the struggles and barriers of immigration (cost and language barrier)
            • refer to the immigration section of last year's justice conference
          • debrief presentation in small groups
