1) How is everyone doing?

2) Board Shoutouts!

• personally, I am incredibly proud of each member of the board for showing up (which can be hard), constantly contributing to events, and being beautifully you :)
• would anyone like to shoutout a specific board member?

2) LNY FAM

• after this meeting, sign thank you cards for:

• Mr. Wotawa, Angelica, Nerissa, Thomson, Hillary
• do we have Starbucks gift cards?
• Yes - Sr. Orque has them

3) SIPAC

• Update
• SIPAC wrote a very strong letter and spoke with Ms. Levine
• building solidarity with AALPA in the process
• Holi Celebration - did anyone attend? any feedback or suggestions for our own ASC Holi event?

- about 30 people showed up

• SIPAC Career Panel - Wednesday, March 22 at 6:30 pm. Students invited! Viv and Nam will be the panel facilitators.

4) ASC Holi Event

• actual date of Holi: Wednesday, March 8

• celebrates:

• the triumph of good over evil 

• the victory of god Vishnu as Narasimha Narayana over Hiranyakashipu

• the welcoming of spring and new beginnings

• plan to host event the week after the actual date?

• possible date: Thursday, March 23, after school

• activity ideas:

• color fight with powdered cornstarch or colored water

• enjoying traditional foods and learning about their significance
• reach out to other students to ask for ideas and updates - Ann, Justin

5) ASC Jackets

• goal is to design, order, and distribute them before the end of the year
• draft an email to send out about the design contest by next meeting (3/9) - Justin
• hopefully send a request by the end of March (and hopefully get it in before May)
• final due date: Monday, March 20 at 9am (before quarter break)
• Criteria:
• establishment year (1973)
• include ASC somewhere
• front and back design
• have something on the back that represents Asian cultures
• remind people that ASC is inclusive of ALL Asian cultures on the Asian continent
• students are only designing the logo on the top left and back

• design contest sent out to ASC students (similar to sweatshirt design contest)?

• does anyone have specific design ideas? *cough* Nam *ahem*

• customink.com has somewhat affordable track-style jackets

• reach out to BSU and ALAS moderators about which platform they used to design jackets
• they got their jackets from Boathouse (pricey but a good investment)

6) AANHPI Month in May

• what kind of events would you like to see?

• send out interest form to ASC students after quarter break
• ID formation event?
• Student Hero Posters

• possible identity formation topics:

• mental health in the aftermath of extreme events (violence and acts of racism)

• how to build inter-affinity unity

7) Affinity Group Leadership for 2023 - 2024 applications are open!
