1. Future Events


1A. Bake Sale for the Earthquake in Taiwan

- introduced by Jonathan H. '24,  Angeline, and his sister 
- want to sell Krispy Kreme on 4/23 during break, lower, and upper lunch 
- planning meeting - Wednesday or Friday? 
-We. cannot bring the donuts. but we can buy them
    - hoping to meet with Dr. McCann and ASC leadership - Friday during X?
    - who can attend? - Caitlin, Alicia, Nam
 

B) Justin - any updates about the Everything, Everywhere all at Once Movie Day? Wednesday April 10th in Choral Room? Tentative date and location; if not, Thursday April 11th or maybe Taxis’ classroom

- moved! felt too rushed coming back from break so let's reschedule

-Make Open Event

     - new tentative date:      May for heritage month

-   2:20 movie AND discussion

Preparation: Justin will meet with Mr. Taxis - Justin can you meet with Mr. Taxis again and check in about his availability

Big scrapbook of all the classes that gets added on every year/event

For ending of the year, flip through it together??

(Easier for me to make on paper, think its more personal than digitally. We can take turns making it)


Ideas:
- Affinity-Group wide scrapbook
-Other groups can submit their photos
Rini will reach out to Ms. Hernandez

- Rini has been collecting pictures!
- If we don’t get any update from Ms. Hernandez, we can make this an ASC thing
- Gained support from Ms. Hernandez!
- Physical scrapbook that we digitally scan
- Collaborative, including Magis events
- We could have a historian or ambassador come by to help contribute to a physical scrapbook
- We do have about a month to work on this so…
- Set up a Google Drive folder to include all of the scrapbook photos
- All photos due the Wednesday we get back from spring break
- Ms. Hernandez will send out an email to the affinity groups 
- Could we send out an email to ASC members to ask them to contribute photos? - Ashley

2D. ASC Jackets

  • Ms. Wong: Any updates on the sending of the money?  

    - ….in the red (by a few thousands)

    - Need to sell more jackets

    - Send out another call out to get people to buy jackets around April 8

    - No sales (unfortunately) 

    - Will focus on once we get back from spring break

    - could we sell ASC jackets at the bake sale for Taiwan?? (May be undoable)

        -Sell during Magis Celebration (Email Mrs. Hernandez) -Alicia, Caitlin, and Carina

3. Prayer dates for upcoming events: if you celebrate these holidays would you like to sign up to lead prayer?

Holi (Monday 3/25): Rini, (Rohan will reach out) —  Uma and Rini

Ancestors’ Day– tomb sweeping? (Thursday 4/11): Justin, Ashley (can also reach out to other ASC members) - Nam and Anthony will talk to Mr. Hansen to figure out dates - updated docs for this year have all been sent to us, let us know if Mr. Hansen has not reached out yet! 

Lao and Cambodian New Year (Tuesday 4/16): TBD (can also reach out to other ASC members) - Rini will write an email reaching out by 3/21 (in drive, needs to be checked) Reach out to Jeslyn Oum ‘24

AANHPI Month (Wednesday 5/1): Isa and Jordan

5. Potential Collaboration with Sacramento Asian Affinity Group

any updates Ashley? - Scrapped for this year


     update: not happening this month - looking forward to future collaboration, but also feels very         rushed right now. 


Start at Asian art Museum —> go to Chinatown


Ashley will reach out to Dr. McCann to figure out the community service aspect

  • Jayden suggested March 16 or 23 - doesn't work for everyone on ASC board
    • Tentative: April 13th after Spring break
    • Moderators of both affinity groups will collaborate to talk about times
    • could we meet up; on Sunday? Zoom in the evening at 8pm 
    • Max length is 45 minutes
    • Update: There was a meeting 

Publicity:

  • Cap at how many people can come 
  • QR code, SITV, poster, Instagram


AANHPI Heritage Month!! - May 

- Hero poster forms are out - due Wednesday April 17 at 11:59
- Need to start planning ID formation 
    - ideas: -Everything Everywhere All at Once

                 -Spoken Word, open mic
                 -AANHPI artists   
                 -Tuesday, May 14th - Korean BBQ     
                 -Commons    
                 -Food: Bulgogi, Chapchae, ricecakes, somosas, mango sticky rice, lumpia, water, lemonade      

    - publicity: Last chance for sash requirement
    -Sr. Orque will announce that posters are sash requirements

- Other ideas for events in May? 
    - ideas: Hanging up posters with boba - May 2nd
    - publicity 
    -Stix, charge full price if open to ASC, charge just $1 if it’s the people who made the         posters
     -Location TBD
 
    
- Is the Stanford AAPI conference happening this year? NO :(

6. Nam and Justin's Cool Boba Idea (founded on Sunday, January 14) - updates? 


Some of the boba places people mentioned on IG:

- T-Pumps (especially on Tuesdays)

- Little Sweet

- Purple Kow

- We can ask people to send in photos of them getting boba to repost on ASC story


Me and Justin will hopefully getting boba over spring break! Look forward to our next post within the next week and a half :)



7. ASC Board Bonding Ideas

hiking in march! -- can we set a date for this month? maybe after holi? What day work best for everyone?

 I need you to take care of yourselves and to not put off your mental health. Your well being is more important . Reach out to moderators or co-prez or anyone else on the board if you just need to talk it out or are struggling in any way. As always…

Make sure to get :

                                                            More than 6 hours of sleep
                                                            Eating good and hydrating
                                                                   Doing stuff we love
                                                         Spending time with loved ones
                                                        Going outside to get some fresh air
