  1. SIPAC Career Panel - Wednesday March 23, 2022, start at 6:30 - 8pm (if you come at 6pm, you can get some lite bites)
    • Vivian and Aaron have sent the questions for the four panelist to review
    • Publicity
      • email ASC members today (mention location too - Faculty Dining Room!) - Vivian 
      • IG story (mention door prizes for students!) - Isa

  2. Holi event - Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 3:30 in the Commons
    • did students get back to us about food?   
    • updates about materials for henna?
    • any response back from the student volunteers sharing their experiences? 
      • send another email today (moderators too - for exact number of items and cost) - Ethan 
      • reach out to them directly if you have their contact or if you see them today
    • slides are gorgeous, continue working on slides
      • have student volunteers contribute (include reminder in email)
    • host another meeting with the student volunteers ideally today or tomorrow, topics include but not limited: (zoom tonight at 7:15pm-8:15pm) - Aaron will send out the new zoom link
      • finalizing food (cost, exact number, and how food will be transported to SI)
      • materials for stations? - if they don't get back to us in time, Irianna will look up items and send to moderators
      • establishing roles
      • going over presentation (students wanted to present slides! - make sure they are prepared to present) 
      • make sure they have a script

  3. Solidarity week - Monday, April 4th at 3:30pm

    • discussing experiences being a student of color at SI
    • any new updates?
  4. ID Formation: Anti-Asian Hate
    • tentative date: Monday, April 11, 3:15pm-4:15pm
      • who can make it: Eva, Vivian, Irianna, Aaron, Penny, Isa, and Ashley
    • hold in early to mid April (if we push it to May, let's focus on immigration)
    • emphasis on discussion, refrain from using stations
    • topic: Representation of Asians in America
      • talk about the different and diverse regions of Asia
      • highlight East Asian and Southeast Asian countries in America
        • regional hierarchy system
        • history of immigration to the U.S. - can refer back to justice conference (talk about process and diff barriers)
          • perhaps highlight a group (not as well known) and follow their journey
        • history of involvement (globally)
      • impact on underrepresented Asian communities
      • impact of SI community
      • let's start researching and unfolding these topics next week
  5. Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month - May
    • highlight Asian Americans leaders who are active in justice- focus on immigration!
    • make it more of a discussion rather than stations
      • [not focusing on mental health] mental health topics
        • effects of model minority myth
        • why Asians-Americans tend not to seek mental health support?
        • generational differences in the perception of mental health and how that influences young Asian-Americans
    • update from Irianna about collaboration with PIA
      • talking to the library and adding a link to AAPI books (for more representation) - Irianna and Lavon will meet with Ms. Wenger 
    • movie idea: Turning Red (can be an end of the year event that is less serious)
