1. Club fair was a success!

  • Think: What was a highlight from the Club Fair (shoutouts, interactions, etc.)

    • map idea was great and very interactive

    • great outreach to the freshmen; table was constantly full

    • people liked the candies and the fruit jellies

    • all of the board members were really welcoming 

    • great booth location  

    • next year: think about making a new trifold 


2. Board Intros

3. ASC Kickoff 

  • confirmed date: Monday, September 26th @ 3pm 

  • location: the Commons

  • begin editing/working on slides!

  • have the slides done by Thursday, September 22nd

  • prepare for there to be a lot of people at the event

  • each station should be 20 minutes long at most

    • moderators will call out the tables and monitor the food

4. Diwali Event


  • Diwali is celebrated on October 24, 2022

  • tentative date: after school on October 26th

    • Festival of Lights celebrated in Hinduism and sometimes Buddhism

    • usually lasts five days during the Hindu lunisolar month of Kartika 

    • reach out to ASC members/students who may be interested in leading this event with us - Ann will send out a message and send their contact info in Slack 

    • need to decide how much commitment will be needed and how to meet with them to get ideas

    • try for weekly meetings 

    • send out an email to all of the students who are interested to gauge their ideas, time commitments, and which days would work best for them by Thursday, September 29th - Nam and Justin

    • include in the email that we’re planning to have weekly meetings for 45 min-1 hour

  • cultural dances, outside groups perform (SIHI, Polynesian Dance club performs, Ukulele club, spoken word, and more)

  • tickets sell out fast because of alumni, students, faculty, etc.

8. Prayer Schedule - days we can commemorate

  • December 10, 2021 (Pasko)

  • February 1, 2022 (Lunar New Year)

  • Month of May (AAPI Month)

  • other dates: mooncake festival, Diwali, cemetery dates, collaboration on Filipino Heritage Month (October)
