  5. Asian American Native Hawaiian Heritage Month

    • explain name change from Asian Pacific American Heritage Month during justice conference or collaboration with PIA

        • "story-telling" style where we can invite someone to highlight their experience with immigration

  1. Lunar New Year Celebration Collaboration Debrief
    • how was it?  any improvements for the future?  any moments that stood out?
      • try to communicate more (have more frequent check-ins with our collaborators) 
        • collaboration with cultural groups... should be led by cultural groups and we, ASC, should support them (shouldn't be an affinity event)
      • YES, pre-packaged food! 
      • the red envelopes were great (the extra lucky money was good)!
      • table cloth should be circles 
      • materials should be bought and planned for (more organized)
      • consider rotating groups bc one group may get boring (give participants opportunities to switch)
      • have someone to teach the group or the ASC group ahead of time (so it's less chaotic)

    • will be celebrated on March 18, 2022 (MIDTERM week)

      • if no one is interested in leading, it is best if we do NOT have the event 
    • marks the beginning of spring after a long winter, symbolic of the triumph of good over evil
    • one way of celebrating is by throwing colored powder (gulal) into the air
