• Señor Orque will distribute the jackets and send emails: all the pick-ups for first round orders are done! 

• Encourage your friends to buy it if they haven’t already done so!

• Though we have already finished the publicity and the due date is almost here, is there any organization that we should donate the money to? (s/o to Mr. Diaz De Leon)

- could potentially donate extra funds to Stop AAPI Hate

3. October event: an identity formation? October 18th in the Choral Room at 3-4pm

Nam and Ashley’s Workshopped Idea:

Mental health within the Asian community, specifically centering issues of

1. Effects of microaggressions, hate crimes, hate speech

2. Having to manage those feelings alongside expectations between family, self, friendships, outside communities 

And highlighting the importance of remembering your ethnic roots within a predominantly white institution that pressures you to assimilate, while also embracing your authentic self as you aren’t just defined by one of your identities (basically learn to love yourself for all that you are!)

Please work on your slides and practice speaking during the quarter break as we will not have a lot of time after coming back to school to prepare as a group!

Today’s Check In: How do you like to decompress and relax after a long day or week?

• If you can’t think of anything, try to think of something you can do for yourself in the next few days and also use each other’s ideas

1. Meeting with Ms. Hernandez?

2. ASC Kickoff: Tuesday, 9/26 @3pm in the commons 

Thank you all for your hard work!!! What did we do well and what can we improve for next year?

• four corners activity and having one person from each group come up
• kahoot trivia activity
• good food
• well organized event
• timing and pacing of activities

Things we could improve for next time:

• have labels for the food (plus noting allergy and spice concerns)
• practice what to say when introducing yourselves and making it more personal
• have people project more when coming up to talk; speak into the mic!
• script everything for the audience so the activities are more clearer
• have different people come up to speak and take turns leading the event
• when in doubt, start talking to people! conversations are always nice

  - Ashley and Nam will start the slides and then send it out to assign roles

  - be sure to do your research and be prepared to present your slide

  - get slides done by Monday night (10/16)

1. Sign-ups For Affinity Groups

• From Moderators: Ms. Hernandez sent an email for sign-ups. Students should fill out the form there too even if they signed up at the Club Fair.

SITV: draft a “join affinity group message” for the 18th, air on 19th -Rini, Caitlin- done!

2. ASC Kickoff: Tuesday, 9/26 @3pm in the commons (come down ASAP at 2:30pm)

2. We’ll start a doc and you guys can add questions- Isa
   ii. Two for Kahoot, one for 4 Corners (done by Sat. 9/16)

• After the poster is done, get approval from Ms. Finn and have Ms. Wong print them out
