1. PASKO Updates (MCs, singers, dancers, fashion show, SITV announcment)

• Starlette and Sonya are going to be MCs
• they will have a template to use from last year but they'll have to write part of it 
• Spencer- email singers and musicians to ask them what they'll be performing 
• dancing and fashion show have enough people already
• dance workshop and hip-hop club are too busy to perform at Pasko
• if we don't want Brandon Raymundo to sig, we can just move all the acts up
• SITV-on tuesday the week of 
• Cherina and Ryan
• explain what Pasko is 
• include a clip from last year 

2. Sweatshirt Updates

• Molly created a new logo for the front 
• send emails out after pasko (either right afterwards or at the beginning of next semester)

3. Townhall Meeting Monday

• after school in the commons
• discussion about the election
• all affinity groups are encouraged to come, but we don't have to do anyting

1. Open House - Sunday, November 13 from 12:15 to 3:15

• table in the gym
• 2 people at the table- Sr. Orque and Gen
• need to have nice decorations for the table!

2. Unity Council Rep role/updates

• only 2 meetings in the last month or so
• last one was when BSU was doing the town hall meeting

3. Harvest Festival (what is it??)

• Next thing on the agenda 

• to celebrate Thanksgiving
• in place of Day on the Green
• today after school
• clubs are selling food to fundraise

4. Pasko Prep/Recruitment

• 3 people showed up for the first dance practice
• not a lot of people filled out the form
• need another boy
• Spencer- send out a last email to tell people that it's 
• fashion show
• same choreographer
• practice times TBD
• contact singers to check
• Hawaiian Club and Hip-Hop Club will be performing

1. Debrief the social

• the underclassmen were very invloved in the discussion
• Some people thought they were just getting Tpumps- make it known in the future that they will get them at the end
• hard to bring the Tpumps to the choral room- maybe next time more peopl can go to help carry it in
• good how each member talked about what affinity means
• good job facilitating discussion
• well framed/ organized
• good profit 

2. Affinity Groups X Period

• thought that the affinity groups would be split up- not everyone got to share because the size of the group
• everyone shared what affinity means to them with the larger group
• need to get more sophomores involved, but overall good turnout
• some people came just for breakfast
• other people thought it was just for the leaders- clarify that it's for everyone
• nice to meet people from other affinity groups
• moderators kept conversation going

3. Seattle Trip

• date changed to the weekend when we have the Lunar New Year Parade and Luncheon- can't go anymore 

4. CYNP Forms

• form is done- include a note at the end saying the application fee will come separately 
• Sr. Orque will email coordinator

5. Pasko Recruitment

• should have a quick general meeting soon (next week- Tuesday, November 1 at break)
• show pictures/ videos from previous years- Gen will put them into a new slideshow
• use same form for sign-ups
• trouble finding a choreographer- don't have a routine yet

1. SOCIAL!!
1. educational piece: Fox News Chinatown segment
1. they had already been thinking about it but the segment spurred them into action
2. Kestrel, Jeri, Emily, Liz, Mei wrote a petition to add more (specifically Asian/Asian American) history in the social science curiculum
3. target: social science department and main administration
4. showing it to all the Asian American teachers 
5. But social science curiculum is going to be changed, so ethnic studies aspect will probably be met
6. helpful to have a specific voice to push the issue 
7. asked if ASC was on board and if we could help them advertise it in the future
8. hasn't really been discussed yet within Asian American affinity faculty
9. can show the segment as the educational piece
1. create a powerpoint to help script it
1. AFFINITY TIME
2. initial reactions to it?
3. define stereotypes, racism, etc. for the freshman
2. but will the freshman be able to absorb this systematic racism?
1. should be okay because they have been exposed to more via the internet/ social media

1. Questions/concerns about how this will affect Magis program
2. Main concerns: higher tuition, affect on Magis program (phasing out middle school Magis program), effect of having middle schoolers on campus, don't have enough space/ resources
3. feels like they're rushing into this 
4. faculty is also very confused- came from the top down (very shocking to people)

• How can we engage them without making it too serious and deep too soon?

3. Definition of an "affinity group"
• Not clear between Tri-Club on what an affinity group means
• Solidarity group who identifies with the Asian American population
• Excluding someone counteracts mission of building community
• What are the roles of allies within the club?
4. What defines an active member of ASC? What ideas for criteria for someone to earn their ASC sash?
• can't just get it for being Asian- sashes mean that you have spent time developing their identity (have to earn it)
• participate in at least one major event
• share their story in a written piece
• moderators input (have they seen them develop their identity as an Asian American?)
• short interview/ check-in
5. Affinity Group X period time, October 25th
• ALAS, BSU, ASC time together (affinity time- one per quarter)
• going to talk about sashes and affinity club definition
• probaby going to be in Bannan

• only had one meeting 
• Student Council- go over equity and inclusion at the beginning of the meetings but no issues have been brought up so far
