Today’s Check-In: If you had to eat at one restaurant for the rest of your life, where would it be?


1. Identity Formation - November 4, Tuesday

  • What went well?
    • Lot more people than last year.
    • Snack selection was very good.
    • People paid attention during presentation.
  • What could we improve?
    • Publicize different rooms more.
    • Remove transitions on slides.
    • Should have more variety of beads for jewelry making.
  • Which Historian/Publicist will take pictures during event, and put in Google Drive - anyone else can as well!
  • Post-event Post and/or story on IG:
  • Date to post: Friday, 11/7, after school


3. Affinity Group Photo Changed to Tuesday 11/11 


   4.  Pasko 

  • Expectation is that all ASC Board members will participate.
    • Pachi will not be at Pasko this year.
  • Pachi, Cruz, and Radhika - SIPAC Pasko planning meetings update
    • Ideas brought up from Wed 11/5 meeting
      • Interactive audience
      • Decorate art during event for kids that students can run - Filipino paroles 
      • Student raffle baskets (ASC Board will have to do themselves, has to be from donations) Ex:
        • Free dress
        • Snacks
      • ASC board basket?  — Only for students
    • Keep in mind - who will organize and run these activities, where will they happen, and what about the Pasko performances?
      • Prepare for meeting: Check slides; Pre submit questions to Sr. Orque by Wednesday 6 pm
      • Camera should be on
    • Would be helpful for ASC Board members to pre-submit questions and turn on their camera.
    • Discuss: What kinds of feedback/questions should they ask during the meetings?
      • Side activities — eg. Table w/ games
      • Engage youth - not just raffles and shows; other things to do on the side
      • Marketing in mid-November  for tickets and publicity, marketing — food, activities, etc



5. Note from Moderators about Affinity Events

“For future school emails, You can say it is an affinity space but leave it at that. I think the culture has been built that our community (for the most part) understands that affinity means for a particular identity. The only time we would say anything different is if it is open to the whole community, like Pasko or a showcase, in which case I would emphasize that all are welcome.”

Please remind students to not say things like "Members Only."



6. Work with Filipino Cultural Club for their December meeting?

  • Friday, December 12, potential meeting date.
  • Co-pres will reach out to FCC.


7. Board bonding?

  • Karaoke
  • Hotpot/food
  • Beach Bonfire
  • Rock Climbing


8. Closing

At the end of the meeting: every person will say aloud their action item(s) and deadlines. (instead of Co-Presidents saying this)

Everyone should have at least one action item to complete (if there are enough), and it should be listed on the agenda for everyone to reference.
